A city under very high surveillance
We now know a little more about the device that probably made Montauban, Monday, the most watched city in France. According to the authorities, some 600 to 700 police and gendarmes were deployed to ensure maximum security for this summit. Part of the forces were mobilized at Blagnac airport where the two leaders landed, as well as throughout the journey. A Raid team was even dispatched to Montauban.

At the prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne, it is in the Jean-Moulin room that the President of the French Republic and the head of the Spanish government chaired, in flesh and blood, the plenary session of this 26th summit between the two countries. Some advisers were also seated in the same room, respecting the sanitary distances. The latest arrival on the departmental political scene, the new mayor of Montauban Axel de Labriolle also took the opportunity to introduce himself.
The Republican Guard on a mission

Commanded by an officer from Montauban, a detachment of the Republican Guard traveled from Paris to allow Emmanuel Macron to welcome, as it should be, the head of the Spanish government at the prefecture of Tarn-et-Garonne. They were 21 members of this prestigious body of the national gendarmerie to fulfill this state mission.
