The comment. The Montalbanais, at the initiative of Jean-Michel Malavelle, had donned a magnificent vintage outfit paying tribute to Raymond Tressens, former president emblematic of a prosperous period of Montalbanese football. No question, however, for the men of Chaib Ouali to fall into the nostalgia of a time which escapes them completely. And it was the Ruthenians who were going to start off with their feet to the ground; barely thirty seconds of play and Lacabane, served on a platter, harvested a delicious balloon which flew above Tristan’s cage. The Aveyron machine then set off to the great surprise of a local formation which could not find the slightest space. Admittedly, Alouladchaib, well launched in his lane, only struck the small net (3rd), goalkeeper Piot opposed an attempt by Kessimou (20th), while Bernisson struck too softly (39th). Little, too little, especially since the “Blood and Gold”, relying on an imperial central defense, on very active full-backs, easily muzzled a local team unable to take the right pace. And it is quite naturally, following a very rapid projection, that Lacombe struck the skylight of the unfortunate Tristan (26th). The distrustful goalkeeper even saved the homeland on a tense strike from the excellent Martinez (40th), and on a new initiative from the elusive Lacabane (45th + 1).
A missed penalty
The passage in the cloakroom was hardly going to change the face of the debates; at least initially. The locals, who had lost the precious Mekchouche before the break, purred at will, which made the happiness of an opponent easily mastering the situation; Axis striker Barrau, author of a full match, created a permanent danger on the Montalbanese defense. And it was hard to imagine a favorable outcome for Loïc Laincer’s teammates. Everything was going to accelerate in the last tempo of the meeting; a foul on Chaïbi was punished with a logical penalty: Jamal Ouali requested his entry into play but his shot found the bottom of the Ruthenian post (80th). This twist of fate did not bring down the locals who managed to equalize by their joker Tetaud, with a furious head (86th). Great thrill in the wake when the Ruthenians were punished on a thunderous return from Kessimou. The Montalbanais had avoided the worst!
And now. The Montalbanais travel to Nestes on Saturday as part of the 3rd round of the Coupe de France).
