With six points on the clock but two home performances which left the Sapiacan supporters a little on their hunger, the Montalbanais were expected yesterday in Drôme for the big party of the first pro match of the club. In the end, the Montalbanais impose themselves in the difficulty but what would have been said if they had not brought back the victory! With the wind in their backs, the Sapiacans are the first to be dangerous on a kick to follow taken up on the line by the defense of the premises (3rd). The pressure was total from the “greens and blacks” and Aviata Silago missed her first attempt at the foot (6th). Logic will say some as the “greens and blacks” are above the lot, the Drômois being sanctioned too many times to be able to hope for something. The logic respected
In the second half, against the wind, the Montalbanais multiply the offensives by hand and a breakthrough full of timeliness of Paul Graou allows the USM to regain the advantage by Jérôme Bosviel entered at the break (16-13, 48e). Opposite, Valence / Romans tries many things but the faults are always as numerous (key not found, throws in missed key), which gives an extremely chopped meeting, certainly indecisive but very far from being spectacular. In this little game, we feel that the points on the foot should not be overused and the VRDR takes the opportunity to equalize a quarter of an hour from the end (16-16). Fortunately, it is the Sapiacans who will, most logically in the world, better finish this meeting, first on a major action which allows Alex Luatua to put his own in front of the line (21-16, 68th ); then on a final test by Dimitri Vaotoa which allows the “greens and blacks” to remain undefeated this season after three meetings. Tarn-et-Garonnais finally rewarded for their efforts, as they have multiplied the initiatives (especially in the second half), most of which unfortunately did not go all the way. It will be necessary to confirm this state of mind as of next week vis-a-vis a formation which does not carry out the best beginning of championship of its history, namely Nevers.
