Continuation today of the presentation of the new recruits of the USM, again on the front line.
Lucas Seyrolle was born on September 4, 1995 (26 years old), 1m83, 124 kg plays as the left pillar. Arriving in Montauban this off-season is the first time he has left his native Cantal. “I am originally from Aurillac and I started playing rugby quite naturally in Aurillac. My parents moved and I found myself in a small club of Promotion Honor du Cantal, Maurs. I returned to Aurillac, to the professional world. Lucas Seyrolle has just played in the Pro D2 flag team, six seasons (2016-2022) at the Stade Aurillac Cantal Auvergne. He took part in 98 Pro D2 matches. As he was about to turn a hundred, the neo-pillar from Montalban made the decision to leave. He tells us why: “I was going to start burying myself. I felt that I had to change my tune by starting a new challenge”.
Montauban, a city where it is very hot
Lucas Seyrolle therefore joins the Sapiacaine first line. “I can play right and left, but more on the left.” With almost a hundred Pro D2 matches on the clock, we can say that he is an experienced player despite his young age for a pillar. “It’s hard to say what my qualities are. My scrum work remains essential. I also like to play ball and defend,” he admits. Newly installed in the city of Ingres, he appreciates the beauties of the city: “Montauban is a very beautiful city where it is very hot compared to Aurillac”. It is true that this year we are served and that Aurillac is often considered by the weather as the coldest city in France. “There is a great club here where people are very close to the players. It changes me a lot from what I knew. For now, it’s only positive for me and I’m very happy to be there,” he said, smiling. Apart from rugby, Lucas Seyrolle has simple passions; “I love taking care of my family, seeing my friends and I have a passion for cars”. A new adventure begins for him this time under the colors of Montalbanaise. He was a starter from the first friendly outing against Narbonne… and a first success.
