The pressure is already there. Without victory for three meetings, the Montalbanaises must imperatively find the road to success tomorrow on the synthetic of Jean-Verbeke.
The match not to lose; already! With two equity splits away and one defeat on their own soil, Soraya Belkadi’s daughters can no longer afford to let capital slip away. And it is indeed the three points which are hoped for in Charlotte Fromantin’s teammates this Sunday; the skeptical captain, always at the forefront of the fight, did not miss her return to national competition: a goal after six minutes for the “golden shoe” of the past season, which has not lost his dynamite during the long cut. Not enough, however, to win the success which seemed to reach out to Grenoble (0-2 after half an hour of play); ten minutes of distraction with three goals conceded, Mikerline Saint-Félix, like three weeks ago in Yzeure, forced to come to the rescue of her teammates to avoid a second defeat (3-3). The Montalbanaises had not been able to ensure the back-brake … A lesser evil at the end of the meeting.
Nîmes in great difficulty
Faced with a team from Nîmes Métropole Gard in great delicacy with three defeats for as many meetings (including two at home), the proteges of President Jean-Michel Malavelle can no longer drop points after having done the essential. The “Crocs” arrive in Montauban peeping through the telescope; the Montalbanaises are at two points … It is understood that a success at the Jean-Verbeke complex would allow the Gardoises to get ahead of them. Soraya Belkadi (see elsewhere) speaks, for her part, of the management of emotions; faced with the Gardian attackers Virginie Pichi, Fannie Da Cunha or other Khadija El Kessili, the local rearguard could use the last mistakes to overcome this defensive deficit, just to reassure a suspicious attack capable at any time of making powder speak ( 7 goals in three games). It is indeed the defensive aspect which remains penalizing today in this wary team anxious to find the former serenity and its general balance. The moment when ever!
Soraya Belkadi: “You have to take points”
Two points sharing away, a defeat at home that hurts: what is the feeling of the group before welcoming Nîmes?
A victory is needed! Obviously, the players are disappointed by these results but they really want to make up for it.
Nîmes is an old acquaintance who shows great difficulties for his debut in the competition; an opportunity for you?
Nîmes clearly aims to stay in D2; we will have to be well armed to fight relentlessly. In this D2 championship, we have to stay focused on our goal and there is nothing easy; it’s up to us to work hard to make things “simpler”!
There are a lot of new faces in the group; does the amalgamation take place under good conditions?
Contrary to the (rather mixed) results, we have developed really very interesting sequences of play (since the start of the season); but the objective remains above all to take as many points as possible.
At the half hour mark, you lead 2-0 in Grenoble; and then the black hole for two minutes: what is your analysis?
At halftime, we had much better control than our opponent; we did not know how to manage our emotions and made some mistakes which made us lose our football. It’s up to me to provide solutions to keep our serenity and especially the score.
