Toulouse demining services were requested this late Friday afternoon in Montauban after the discovery of a suspicious package in a small street in the historic heart. At around 5.30 p.m., a suitcase was found in rue des Soubirous-bas, located between rue Michelet and rue Bessières. The police quickly set up a security perimeter. Firefighters were also on site.
Staff from the Maison de la Mutualité, as well as occupants of neighboring buildings were evacuated.
The police preferred not to take any risk.
The deminers of the civil security service of Toulouse arrived on site around 7.15 p.m.
They studied the place, examined the package with their methods before detonating it at 7:30 p.m. The suitcase was empty. The residents were able to return to their homes.
Montauban has been used to some of these suspicious packages … This is the 5th time since the start of the year that this type of event has occurred.
The police will once again open an investigation to try to unravel this mystery OF suspicious packages then which are no longer …
