New Delhi. The monsoon session of the Parliament is likely to be stormy this time. The monsoon session will start from 20 July and continue till 11 August. There is likely to be a total of 15 meetings in this. The government has listed a number of bills to be passed during the upcoming session, which is expected to be a stormy affair. Opposition parties can raise important issues and demand discussion on issues including violence in Manipur, interference of governors in opposition-ruled states, inflation, among others. Some opposition parties may raise the demand of JPC ‘Joint Parliamentary Committee’ in the Adani stock issue.
Announcing the dates of the session, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi appealed for cooperation from all political parties, especially the opposition parties, in a tweet. Eagerly waiting for the government’s decision on introducing the much-awaited Uniform Civil Code ‘UCC’ Bill in the upcoming session. At the same time, many other bills will be listed for passing.
data protection bill may come
Top sources in the government have told CNN News 18 that the Center is set to bring the Data Protection Bill for passage in the upcoming session. The Bill, in its latest form, is currently being examined by the Department Related Standing Committee for Communications and Information Technology. If this bill is passed by the Parliament, the new data protection bill will come with the current information technology ‘reasonable security procedures and sensitive personal data or information’ new rules, which were notified in 2011.
These are the bills pending for passage in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha
– Repealing and Amending Bill, 2022
– Biodiversity ‘Amendment’ Bill 2021 (This bill has been prepared after getting approval from the Joint Committee of Parliament)
– Multi State Cooperative Societies ‘Amendment’ Bill 2022 (It has also been cleared by the panel. Which was referred in the last budget session)
– Public Trust Provisions Amendment Bill 2022 (It has also been approved by the Joint Committee)
Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Amendment Bill 2019 (It has been reported by the Standing Committee. It is also ready to be passed)
– Arbitration Bill 2021 (After completion of examination by the Standing Committee will be placed for passing in Lok Sabha. This bill was first introduced in Rajya Sabha)
– Constitution Scheduled Tribes Order ‘Third Amendment’ Bill 2022 passed by the Lok Sabha in respect of the State of Himachal Pradesh (Ready to be passed in the Rajya Sabha.)
– Constitution ‘Scheduled Tribes’ Order Fifth Amendment Bill 2022 passed by the Lok Sabha in respect of Chhattisgarh (It is also to be listed for passing in the Upper House.)
