Monsignor José Rico, Bishop of Asidonia-Jerez, visits and blesses the facilities of Cáritas Diocesana

Today Monsignor José Rico Pavés, Bishop of Asidonia-Jerez, held a meeting with the team of Cáritas Diocesana de Asidonia-Jerez with its director at the helm, Juan Pérez González.

First of all, the prelate has blessed the store that Cáritas Diocesana has in El Paseo Shopping Center. In this establishment, he has learned more about the production lines developed by the entity through its insertion company Casa Común. His visit began in the section of the textile recycling initiative, Moda re-, developed by Cáritas Diocesana as part of of a social initiative cooperative promoted by Cáritas Española. Next, he has been able to learn more about Devuelta, the work of restoring furniture and decorative objects carried out by the entity, as well as about its new patented upcycling brand, Fantoche.

Undoubtedly, all these initiatives are a reflection of Cáritas’ commitment to follow the call of Pope Francis, in his encyclical Laudato si, to implement ecological actions that take care of our Common Home.

Next, he visited the facilities of the Casa Encuentro del Santo Ángel, in the rural neighborhood of El Portal. In this space, training actions are currently being carried out, as well as workshops for the children and youth project of Cáritas Diocesana, “Imagina”, as well as the women’s project “Juntas Avanzamos”.

Finally, Monsignor José Rico visited the Cáritas Diocesana warehouse, where all the work related to the Casa Común production lines is carried out. Likewise, this space is home to the Diocesan Employment area and is the headquarters of the training actions provided by the entity. Of course, he has also blessed the facilities of this work center.

From Cáritas Diocesana we appreciate the visit of Don José and the illusion that he has transmitted with his words to each of the people who carry out their work in the entity.
