Monsignor Filippo Ciampanelli (Msgr. Filippo Ciampanelli) has been appointed by Pope Francis as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Congregation of the Oriental Churches.
This appointment order was issued on Monday (15/04/24). Monsignor Champanelli was a consultant in the Public Affairs Department of the Vatican State Office.
He is from Italy and was born on July 30, 1978 in Novara. Ordained on June 21, 2003, Monsignor Champanelli earned a doctorate in theology and entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy for ordination training and joined the Diplomatic Faculty of the Holy See on July 1, 2009.
He served in the diplomatic offices of the Holy See in Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus.
