TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Epidemiolog dari Griffith University Australia Dicky Budiman ask the Indonesian government to take more decisive steps to measure disease risk monkey pox or monkeypox.

“I say the potential is clearly there monkey pox which has now become a global health emergency,” said Dicky to Tribun Network, Monday (25/7/2022).
He confirmed monkey pox outbreaks that can spread to other countries because of the very high flow of human mobility.
Dicky said the government needed to conduct early detection of vulnerable groups.
These vulnerable groups include gay people, people who change partners frequently, sex workers, and their family members.
“The detection or screening must be increased because currently those who have a high risk are those who can transmit,” he said.

However, Dicky continued, the health protocol in the Covid-19 pandemic made monkeypox controllable.
“This public awareness should accelerate and stimulate vigilance,” he said.

The former secretary of the Supervisory Board of the Health Social Security Administering Agency assessed that the government still needs to provide literacy and get booster vaccines to increase immunity.
