FLORIDA officials have reported the first “suspected” case of the newly emerged monkeypox virus, it has been revealed.
The case was found in Broward County and involves international travel, according to a press release by health officials.
The person is currently in isolation.
There are no other cases in Florida at this time.
The Florida Department of Health in Broward County and the Center for Disease and Control and Prevention are investigating the matter.
Officials said cases of monkeypox virus have been reported worldwide since May 14 this year.
