TRIBUNNEWS.COM, SEMARANG – Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Central Java explained so far monkey pox or monkeypoxhas not been confirmed to enter Indonesia.
Although monkeypox suspects have been found in Central Java, Central Java IDI is still questioning the truth.

“Because until now we are still waiting for the examiner, so it is not certain that the suspect is monkeypox,” said the Chairman of Central Java IDI, Djoko Handojo, Friday (5/8/2022).
Djoko confirmed that there were symptoms in Central Java on August 3, but before getting solid evidence, these symptoms could not be said monkeypox.
“It could be chicken pox or ordinary smallpox, because the symptoms are the same, for example heat, feeling the land in the muscles to the back accompanied by the emergence of spaces on the skin,” he explained.
He explained, the thing that distinguishes ordinary smallpox from smallpox monkeypoxthe occurrence of enlarged lymph nodes.
“Because of the enlarged lymph nodes, doctors usually do an examination of the neck, armpits and groin,” he said.
According to him, monkeypox is a smallpox disease that is transmitted from animals, from monkeys, squirrels to rats.

“The mitigation is to stay away from these animals. If you eat animal meat, it is also cooked properly,” he explained.
In addition, Djoko suggested that people who like hunting should also be careful, and it is better to leave this hobby for a while.
“Due to the spread monkey pox of unpredictable animals. In addition, keep a distance from people who are suffering from smallpox,” he said.
He explained that the treatment of monkeypox until now has not been a specific treatment, because the treatment is still the same as ordinary smallpox.
