Liputan6.com, Jakarta The DKI Jakarta Health Service (Dinkes) has again discovered a new case of monkey pox or monkeypox. As of Saturday (21/10/2023) at 17.00 WIB, there were four new cases in Jakarta.
Therefore, the total number of cases of monkey pox that have occurred in Indonesia is seven people and all of them were in Jakarta.
The first case occurred in August 2022 and has been declared cured. Then, the second and third cases were on 13 and 19 October 2023, these two patients were being isolated in hospital.
“Monkeypox DKI Jakarta update as of 21 October 2023 at 17.00, four cases of 21 October 2023 are currently in the hospital isolation referral process,” said Head of the Surveillance, Epidemiology and Immunization Section of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Ngabila Salama in a short message, Saturday (21/10/ 2023).
Ngabila said that these four cases were different findings and were not related to each other.
“These four new cases are different and have no connection,” said Ngabila.
Not only that, Ngabila also revealed that the seven cases in DKI occurred in young men.
“The seven positive cases in DKI are all men aged 25-35 years,” added Ngabila.
