TRIBUNJABAR.ID, CIREBON – Cirebon City residents who were declared exposed to monkeypox (Mpox) or monkey pox are now being treated at the Gunung Jati Regional Hospital, Cirebon City.
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Cirebon City, Agus Mulyadi, said that the resident concerned was only referred to hospital last night.
This is because the condition of the house does not allow for self-isolation, making the relevant officers move to make referrals to these residents.
“On Tuesday or Wednesday the results came out and it was stated that (the resident) was positive for monkey pox and we immediately carried out treatment.”
“Last night we referred him to RSD Gunungjati, even though the hospital itself still doesn’t have a pattern, what kind of treatment it should be,” said Agus when interviewed by the media, Thursday (9/11/2023).
To prevent additional cases from occurring, his party immediately held a cross-sectoral coordination meeting in preventing and handling Mpox cases.
The relevant stakeholders will be able to provide an understanding of cases that are currently hot, such as Mpox.
Apart from that, it is also hoped that relevant stakeholders can also socialize how to deal with symptoms and treatment if similar cases are found.
“This morning, we gathered friends from technical services in particular, including the education service, Satpolair PP and sub-district/village heads.”
“How can they provide an understanding of Mpox, what the symptoms are like, how to treat it and how to treat it if the same condition is found,” he said.
Agus confirmed that there is only one resident of Cirebon City who has now been confirmed positive for monkey pox.
Meanwhile, from his family circle, there are four people with suspected fan status who are currently also being handled.
“Only one (confirmed positive) and hopefully there will be no more, but there are suspects being examined (four people), including their family.”
