JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Plt. Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Service, Ani Ruspitawati, explained several symptoms that lead to monkey pox.
The number of cases of residents affected by monkeypox or monkey pox in Jakarta is increasing.
“Symptoms include fever, bone and muscle pain, water-filled blisters or sores on the skin, lumps or enlarged lymph nodes in the armpits, neck or thigh folds,” said Ani, quoted in her statement, Thursday (26/10/2023) .
Monkey pox can also be transmitted to other people due to contact with identified people.

“The infection is due to close skin contact or friction of the patient’s skin which has elasticity or lesions with the skin of a previously healthy person,” added Ani.
Furthermore, Ani said, skin friction with the sufferer can cause microlesions on the skin.
“The appearance of microlesions on the skin makes it easier for the virus to enter a person’s body,” he said.
The DKI Jakarta Health Office continues to remind and invite all Jakarta residents to always maintain personal hygiene.
