Before being signed by Liverpool, Luis Diaz was apparently in demand by many other clubs. Besides Tottenham HotspurBarcelona has also been monitoring him for a long time.
According to El Pais’ report, Barcelona have been monitoring him for a long time. The 25-year-old player is on the Blaugrana’s radar, besides Adama Traore and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, Barcelona failed to recruit louis diaz. The reason is because the Spanish League giants can’t sell Ousmane Dembele.
“In this transfer window, another striker could have come to the Camp Nou, but Dembele’s refusal to leave before his contract expires ruined the club’s plans,” a source told El Pais.
“They have reached an agreement to sign Luis Diaz, a Porto winger who has joined Liverpool,” the source explained.
Luis Diaz eventually moved to Liverpool. The winger immediately played against Cardiff City in the FA Cup last weekend and made an assist. He also played again when the Reds beat Leicester City.
Failed to recruit louis diaz, Barcelona himself could only sign Traore and Aubameyang in the January transfer window. Both have also been played last weekend.
