Russia has been using this technology since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, especially on the front line. To be as effective as possible, the high-tech cameras have to be as high as possible. The video shows a meter-high mast on which the surveillance system sits.

A drone approaches it and flies head-on into the platform. The aircraft apparently causes the video and thermal imaging cameras on the meter-high mast to crash into the depths. “This is what the saying ‘money thrown out the window’ looks like,” the pro-Ukrainian militia writes cynically on Telegram.

According to the Legion, a single system costs 50,000 US dollars. The tower in the video remained standing. There was no major explosion. A few clouds of smoke appeared. A Ukrainian soldier told the Kyiv Post because the system was only damaged rather than completely destroyed.
