The traditional honorary reception of the Central Saxony district has been canceled this year due to the corona pandemic. With the money of 20,000 euros, which were planned in the district budget for the event, clubs and initiatives that were particularly committed during the Corona period were supported. The district spokesman André Kaiser said at the request of “Free Press”. He cited everyday heroes and pastors as examples. The Central Saxony district receives 200,000 euros annually from the Free State of Saxony to support volunteering. Civic engagement is to be promoted with 100,000 euros, and 50,000 euros are earmarked for supporting the work of the association. A further 30,000 euros are planned for a fund for mini-concerns and special projects in 2021 and 2022, and 20,000 euros are to flow into a volunteer event for the Central Saxony district in both years.
