Money for floodlights on the Johannisberger sports field

The state is funding the retrofitting of the floodlight system. The new LED technology should help save energy and money.

JOHANNISBERG – (red). The state of Hesse is funding the conversion of the floodlight system on the sports field in Johannisberg to LED technology. As Petra Müller-Klepper, member of the state parliament, reports, Interior Minister Peter Beuth (both CDU) approved the 1919 Johannisberg sports club for the measure, which has already been implemented.

“Since the project was urgent, the ministry approved the early start in November of last year. Now, with the approval notification, the state has also given its commitment to co-finance. It covers a quarter of the total eligible expenditure, which amounts to 26,235 euros, ”explains Müller-Klepper.

With the help of the state, the modernization of the facility at Hansenberg could take place. “Upgrading to LED technology brings three benefits: It improves the lighting quality, saves a lot of energy and significantly reduces costs.” The conversion to high-quality LED floodlights makes ecological and economic sense. The investment pays off because the energy saving potential is high, up to 75 percent. Petra Müller-Klepper is pleased that funds are now flowing again for the sports facility in Johannisberg, after the state had also funded the construction of the artificial turf field there with 50,000 euros. These donations are a sign of thanks and recognition for the continuous, voluntary commitment of the association members. “The SV Johannisberg promotes popular sport in an exemplary manner and strengthens cohesion in the village.”

The current donation comes from the “Continuation of the association’s work” program. “As in the case of SV Johannisberg, funds can be approved from this pot if there is evidence of a particular financial burden due to necessary repair or replacement measures or for the purchase of durable sports equipment,” explains the MP. She points out that the state recently promoted the LED retrofitting of other floodlight systems in the district. “The approvals show that the state’s sports funding is being felt in our region. In the past five years, funding of more than 3.75 million euros has gone to the Rheingau-Taunus from the various programs. ”
