Money and jewelry exchanged for scraps of paper

Two fraudsters outsmarted a 71-year-old on Tuesday and took away cash and jewelry worth at least 8,000 euros. They spoke to the elderly woman in a grocery discounter on Vogelwoogstrasse. The suspects inquired about the 71-year-old’s well-being. When the elderly woman gained confidence in the women, the strangers asked about the assets of their victim. They lulled the 71-year-old to such an extent that they made her believe that the elderly woman’s money was “unclean” and made her sick. The scammers put pressure on the woman and scared her. At the same time, they offered the 71-year-old to be able to clean the money. The elderly woman agreed to it. She handed the perpetrators cash and jewelry worth at least 8,000 euros. She got her valuables back “cleaned” wrapped in towels. However, the elderly should keep the bundle sealed for at least 40 days. When the woman confided in a relative the next day, the dizziness was noticed: unnoticed, the two women had exchanged the 71-year-old’s money and jewelry for worthless scraps of paper. Now the police are investigating and are asking for your help: Who saw two women in the Vogelwoogstrasse area on Tuesday? One of the fraudsters is around 50 to 55 years old. She is about 1.60 meters tall and of strong stature. The woman has black hair that is cut about cheek length. Among other things, she was dressed in a black jacket, black shoes and gray jeans. Your accomplice could be a little younger, namely 45 to 50 years old. She is also about 1.60 meters tall, but of slim stature. The woman has dark blonde hair and was dressed in a bronze jacket, among other things. The perpetrators spoke Russian with their victim. Witnesses who can provide information are asked to contact the Kaiserslautern police on 0631 369 2620. | req
