Monestier-de-Clermont. The Golden Age welcomes two Norwegian caregivers

For the second year in a row, the nursing home run by Isabelle Lassard is hosting two nursing assistants of Norwegian nationality for four weeks, in partnership with the Institute of Trades and Techniques (IMT), work-study campus in Grenoble, in the Erasmus + program organized locally by Séverine Cotte, English teacher at IMT.

The project began in 2021 thanks to the latter, which will make it continue through a new exchange which will take place in April. She is preparing 2024 like the Olympic Games for a new exchange, with the ultimate goal of making the project sustainable for the years to come. The two caregivers, Velen Tubassen-Zuleta and Emma Grinheim, come from the Eilert-Sund school in the county of Agder (southern Norway).

Not two but four trainees are currently hosted in Isère: two at the Golden Age, one at Gobbo Electricity in Grenoble, the fourth at Alpes Dauphiné Electricity in Fontaine.

For Velen and Emma, language is not an obstacle because in these technical professions, the relation of the professional gesture is often more important than the ability to communicate with words. They will be from February 4 to March 4 at the Golden Age, where they were remarkably welcomed by Isabelle Lassard, the director who encouraged their arrival, and the staff who also helped their integration.

The Erasmus + program allows young people in vocational training from a Member State of the European Union to study in another State, extended to Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Turkey, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Séverine Cotte will go to Norway in April with a group of apprentices from Isère who will in turn work in Norwegian companies (automotive mechanics and electricity).
