“I have been a donor since I was 18. I can’t do it anymore since I’m over 70 years old. When Jean-Pierre Pillon, member of the coordination committee for Operation My Blood for Others, with Hervé Lecat, contacted me, I did not hesitate for a second. It seemed normal to me for Usom and its sections to lend a hand for this essential operation ”, indicates Kléber Achard, president of the executive committee of the Mondeville Workers’ Sports Union (Usom).
“Normandy needs 500 blood bags every day. Our goal is to recruit and retain new donors. It is a major stake ”, complete Jean-Pierre Pillon.
Operation Mon sang pour les autres, organized by the Rotary clubs of Cabourg, Bayeux and the three Rotaries of Caen, Rotaract, Inner Wheel and the French Blood Establishment (EFS), will take place on Saturday, June 19, at the party room. “We are expecting 250 donors. Registrations are made on the EFS website. There will be animations and surprises as well as the coming of the Caen graphic artist Solice, who will intervene live, to create a fresco ”, continues Jean-Pierre Pillon.
The collective also wants to recruit pledges. A sponsorship printout with QR code is available and will be widely distributed. A raffle will reward those who have honored their promise.
