The parks and forests of the Brussels Region will not be accessible on Monday because stormy weather with wind gusts of at least 80 kilometers per hour is predicted. Strong gusts of wind are also expected in the rest of the country.
An intense line of showers will move through the country on Monday afternoon, with a strong southwest wind. There is also a chance of thunder and hail. The RMI reports that it expects gusts of up to 90 km/h, or even more, during the rain and thunderstorms. Code yellow applies throughout the country between 12 noon and 7 p.m.
In Brussels, the Brussels Environment government department decided on Sunday as a precaution that the parks and forests will close at 12 noon on Monday. They were supposed to reopen around 7 p.m. Notices will be posted at the entrances and park rangers will inform the public. Brussels Environment recommends not to go near trees throughout the region.
