The Moncellois won 2-1 against the Montois who were unbeaten until now. Trailing, the Carolos managed to turn the situation around and put an end to their series of defeats.
The two teams were in very different forms when they met. Monceau was on a 0/9 record and Flénu had a clean sheet in the championship with maximum points (12/12). The visitors took the lead quickly, from the 8th minute. Thanks to a magnificent free kick from Samir Belasfar who placed the ball in the top corner, Flénu. He cleared the top corner and made it 0-1.
Slowly but surely, this goal woke up Michel Dufour’s men and shortly after the half-hour mark, Deniz Bin restored equality by sliding the ball under Polain, the Flénusien goalkeeper (33rd, 1-1). Just before the break, Soares came close to making it 1-2 but his shot in the rectangle was too crossed and grazed Prevot’s post.
At the start of the second half, Flénu settled into the opposing camp and exposed themselves to counterattacks. Navona recovered a good ball and gave it to Boumediane whose deep pass to Bouterbiat was perfect. The Moncellois forward pushed the ball between Polain’s legs and went on to score one of the easiest goals of his career (55th, 2-1). Subsequently, the Carolos hit the target twice via two headers from Bouterbiat on the crossbar and the post of Polain. Without really being worried and without managing to completely reassure themselves, the Moncellois held on until the end of the match. A match that the Montois finished 10 against 11 after Sean Dubois was sent off for two yellow cards.
Monceau returns to victory and takes three precious points in the standings and mentally before a trip which promises to be perilous to Tertre-Hautrage on Sunday.
