“Encruzilhada.” It was in these terms that Lopo do Nascimento, historical leader of the MPLA, responded to the investigation that the judicial authorities of Monaco are carrying out on the former President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos. The daughter, Isabel dos Santos, and her son-in-law, Sindika Dokolo, are all being investigated in the same case, all suspected of the crime of money laundering.
The investigations could be extended to other family members, friends and close collaborators who, directly or indirectly, were involved in business with them: “This can reach many people who in the past had powers and connections with Isabel dos Santos and husband ”, revealed an official from the criminal investigation services of Angola, who follows the case in close collaboration with Interpol. High suspicions by the Monegasque authorities will be high amounts deposited with financial institutions in the principality.
