Monaco slowed down in title race
The Monegasques logically bowed against enterprising Strasbourg attackers who were rewarded at the end of the match. After an average first period, Thierry Laurey’s men multiplied the opportunities in the second half.

Uninspired offensively with five shots including only one on target, Monaco held a draw thanks to a Benjamin Lecomte of the great evenings who rejected multiple Alsatian opportunities. During a completely open meeting between Montpellier and Lorient, Michel Der Zakarian’s men failed to gain the advantage over opportunistic Lorient. Lorient opened the scoring very early in the match thanks to a penalty which was obtained by Julien Laporte on a foul by the experienced Vitorino Hilton. Adrian Grbic transformed the penalty allowing the Merlus to take the advantage in the match (9th).

The Montpellierains reacted just before half an hour into the game, Stephy Mavididi equalized with a low strike that ended his race in the nets of Matthieu Dreyer. The Lorient could have hoped for victory, with a goal denied by Terem Moffi for a foul at the start of Abergel’s action on Ferri.

With this draw the Pailladins lost two important points in the race for Europe and remain seventh, four points behind Lens, fifth. The Merlus, 17th, moved away from the relegation zone, with two points ahead of Nîmes, barrage.

Nantes falls back into its pitfalls
Nantes lost at the end of the match against Reims at La Beaujoire (1-2). First defeat for Nantes since Antoine Kombouaré is on the Canaries bench.
