Mona Brorsson has done her last competition.

She was greatly praised after the mass start.

– I have longed for this, says the 33-year-old in SVT.

During the WC, Mona Brorsson announced that she is quitting after the season.

Sunday’s World Cup race in Canmore was thus her last in her career.

The Swede impressed in the mass start, hitting 19 out of 20 shots and finishing in 20th place.

– So damn nice. It was a brutally difficult race, says Brorsson in SVT.

“So very nice”

In the background, the entire national biathlon team stands and pays tribute to her.

– It is so very nice. I was so tired. I drive around and I’m completely empty. When I finish I just collapse.

She only missed one shot.

– I had no choice. I couldn’t bear to ride penalty laps! It was a nice ending.

Hanna Öberg near the podium

Hanna Öberg was in the close fight until the last shot, but missed a shot and finished sixth.

– I do a good race then it’s a shame with the barrier in the last. I would have liked so much to grab a podium place, she says.

Elvira Öberg burned four shots and came in 19th place.

– Tia or 19th on a day like this doesn’t matter. I have to struggle all the way today. It is empty both in the body and in the head, she says.

French star Lou Jeanmonnot won the mass start ahead of German Janina Hettich-Walz (2) and Gilonne Guigonnat.

The Italian Lisa Vittozzi took home the overall World Cup despite a 21st place in the mass start.
