Moment + MagSafe
I’m always excited to see MagSafe – the magnetic technology that allows the iPhone 12 to connect and interact with accessories – return to its all-new form. I’m even happier to see companies changing the way we can use it.
We’ve seen accessories straight from Apple like their wallets, as well as batteries and other accessories, but this line from Moment aims to provide users with media for all situations, photography and beyond.

A wide variety of MagSafe media
For MagSafe to work, you’ll need a bare iPhone 12 or a compatible MagSafe compatible case, which Moment has coming in a number of colors. The Moment MagSafe range of brackets includes brackets for your car, which attach via vents, and brackets for your wall, which attach via 3M adhesive or screws.
Of course, there are also Moment MagSafe accessories that are meant to enhance iPhone photography and videography. For these people, a cold shoe mount is the easiest, allowing you to affix a light or microphone to your phone. If you go with one of the pro-tripod mounts, which include both a standard landscape mount or a landscape + portrait mount, you can easily attach your phone to a tripod.
Moment has also created a cold shoe-less tripod option, as well as my favorite mount: the Multi-Thread. The MagSafe Multi-Thread Mount allows you to attach your iPhone to a variety of things, in my case a larger cinema camera with app functionality. As a director of photography, I can see that a few of these MagSafes are useful on sets; this would give the possibility of hiding a light or a microphone where a magnet would hold.
MagSafe Magnet Strength
If you’re familiar with MagSafe, it’s important to note that what Moment does with its accessories has a proprietary version, which they call M-Force. When testing the Moment Slim Cases with MagSafe, you could feel a stronger connection which was harder to break than a normal wallet or charging washer.

The taking of.
Moment products are all about photography, but here it’s just the surface. If you’re someone who spends a lot of time working with your iPhone to capture content, these are designed with you in mind. With mounts for your car or kitchen, you can now seamlessly switch between recording and using your phone as you normally would, hands-free.
I expect to see these mounts appear in creative environments as much as I had seen the first wave of Moment cases and lenses. Which means: a lot.
Each MagSafe compatible accessory goes from $ 20 to $ 60, so analyze where in your lifestyle you will benefit from a semi-permanent phone at home. As a filmmaker planning to enter the Moment International Film Festival later this year, I think it was great to try early (and I’m sure I’ll miss them when I’m on set, without taking any perks. unfair!). You can pre-order them today on the Moment website.
