The man with the initials R (48) is suspected of having splashed it hard water to his wife, SS (31), and their son, KM (1), in Cengkareng, West Jakarta (Jakbar), until both died. The victim’s neighbor recounted the tense moments immediately following the acid attack.
“It’s ugly, the eyes are swollen, you can’t see it, the lips are cooked, as they say, like cooked chicken, the meat is no longer red, it’s white. So I took it right away, I brought it (all ‘hospital),” said the victim’s neighbor, Yayah (50), in West Jakarta on Tuesday (12/27/2022).
“The smell of hard water is pungent. I have also injured myself, swollen (hands and stomach). Especially if the victim is wet,” he added.
Yayah said he too was injured while helping KM who had just been doused in acid. He said the victim’s mother, SS, was wet and her body turned red when she called for help.
“(His body) is red, his clothes are wet with chemical water, like like people who bathed together (with their children). It just seems like her mother can’t drink anymore, she throws up,” Yayah said.
Another victim’s neighbor, Mulyanah, 40, said SS was sprayed with clean water by a neighbor before being taken to hospital. She said the victim’s body was smoking after being sprayed with hot water.
“Keep it going to say, he (SS) asked for her help to be taken to the hospital. He (SS) was in a sodden state, son of him was brought to Mrs. Yayah. (SS) was sprinkled (water) by the women (nearby) in front. I took him to change because I didn’t dare because a lot of hot smoke was coming out of the house. I saline at the front, I immediately took him to Cengkareng hospital by motorcycle with my son,” Mulyanah explained.
SS is said to have asked Mulyanah about the condition of her face. At that moment, Mulyanah admitted that he saw the SS’s eyes turn white.
“On the road it can still to say him: ‘Tan, is my face destroyed or not?’. (I answered) ‘No, do it lu still beautiful, Bun, only the eyes lu already on white’. He churches that’s his face aja“, Muliana said.
“So, (his eyes) are slightly white that’s all, like cataract huh. ‘Can you see or not?’. “No, I can not seedark’, he Just send it on the bike, on my shoulder,” he continued.
SS and KM later died after several hours of treatment at Cengkareng Hospital. SS is known to have been in a coma before he died.
