Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas Christmas Gathering at St. Yoseph Naikoten, Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Saturday night (24/12/2022). Congregation at the Parish Church of St. Yoseph Naikoten welcomed the minister of religion Yaqut with a standing ovation.

The archbishop of Kupang, mgr. Petrus Turang, said that the minister of religion Yaqut is visiting the city of Kupang for the first time. According to him, the arrival of the Minister of Religion Yaqut to participate in Christmas with the people of Kupang city was an extraordinary moment.
“This is the first time we have met, it is very extraordinary in this Christmas time tonight,” said the Archbishop of Kupang.
Meanwhile, Religion Minister Yaqut admitted that he was very happy to celebrate Christmas with a large Christian family in the city of Kupang. Yaqut explained that the Christians in the city of Kupang were like brothers. Even the minister of religion said that his presence here was not on behalf of the minister of one religion, but the minister of all religions in Indonesia.
“It’s really extraordinary, I’m here on behalf of the Minister of All Religions. Not the Minister of one religion and we are all one without borders, we are brothers in humanity,” said the Minister of Religion.
After delivering the message during the Christmas celebration, the Minister of Worship then said goodbye to leave the church hall but it was quite difficult because hundreds of people stopped asking for a group photo.
“Mr. Minister, we would like to ask permission to take a group photo. This is the first time we have seen the Minister come to Kupang,” said hundreds of congregations flocking to the Minister of Religion.
One of Rina Nois’ congregations admitted that they were very happy to be able to take photos, even though they were blocked by the security forces but they tried to approach the Minister of Religion for a group photo. “I almost fell from the shove, but I tried to take a picture together,” she said.
Other congregations also joined in blocking religion minister Yaqut, even though he was heavily watched by police, Banser, the TNI and the Christmas committee.
