Morocco is a Muslim majority country which is quite preoccupied with the issue of normalizing Palestine. It condemns the Israeli invasion and fights for solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Meanwhile the people of Qatar have also opened the space for Muslim countries, both in the Middle East and North Africa, to express their support for Palestine.

The support that Morocco did not only in last night’s match. Fans also expressed their support when Tunisia faced France last week, when spectators stormed the pitch carrying Palestinian flags.

World Cup host Qatar has no ties to Israel and remains a supporter of the Palestinians’ decades-long struggle for statehood.
