“It’s still too early to fully loosen the reins. As long as variants of the virus are circulating, caution remains necessary.’ So says biostatistician Geert Molenberghs of Hasselt University. We have achieved a vaccination rate of 90 percent in various places in Limburg. And that makes dreams of extra relaxation. ‘But what many people forget is that with a full vaccination you can still contract and pass on the virus,’ says Molenberghs. That became clear once again in the Mandana residential care center in Genk, where they have been dealing with a new outbreak since this week.
