Moldovan Prime Minister Condemns Putin’s Decree on Simplified Citizenship for Residents

Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean commented on the decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on a simplified procedure for granting citizenship to residents of Moldova, as well as Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Source: Rechan said this on the TV channel TV8 on Monday, reports “European truth

Details: The Prime Minister of Moldova said that he views Putin’s decree as “an attempt to recruit cannon fodder for this cruel and incomprehensible war launched by Russia in the neighboring country of Ukraine.”

“I would like to ask citizens not to resort to this,” he added.

According to Recean, there are currently between 150 and 200 thousand Moldovans in Russia.

According to the decree signed by Putin, residents of Moldova, Belarus and Kazakhstan no longer have to prove permanent residence in the country to obtain Russian citizenship – they just need to have a residence permit, as well as pass an exam on knowledge of the history of Russia and the foundations of statehood.

Let us remind you that at the beginning of the month in Moldova summoned for interrogation leader of the marginal pro-Russian Party of Regions and the Congress of Moldovan Diasporas in Russia, Alexander Kalinin, whom before that they were deprived of citizenship.
