“Moldovan Eagle Ion Taburceanu Makes His Oktagon Debut Against Slovak Tank Vlast Čep”

As early as this weekend, fans of the domestic MMA scene will be waiting for the next Oktagon 42 tournament, in which Moldavan Ion Taburceau will make his debut in the Octagon in the main preliminary match of the evening. He goes to war with the Slovak tank Vlast Čep and in an interview for Ruik calls for the end of the opponent to the second round.

Octagon is returning to Slovakia after more than a year. Already this Saturday, we will see the Oktagon 42 tournament at the Ondrej Nepela winter stadium in Bratislava, the highlight of which will be the title battle for the interim featherweight champion between Losen Keita and Jakub Tichota.

But the fans’ attention will certainly also be directed towards the main pre-match of the entire gala evening. In which Moldavan Ion Taburceanu, who played in Eastern European organizations and last appeared at the tournament of the Austrian organization Cage Fight Series, will take part in his first match in the Octagon.

Now he will also show himself to Czechoslovak fans in an organization that resonates in different corners of Europe. The fighter himself confirmed this in an interview for Ruik. “I knew about Oktagon before the first contact, he is well-known in Moldova,” revealed Taburceana. “We also have large organizations in Moldova.”

The Moldavian Eagle was not given an easy task by the promoters at the start, when they face the favorite of the Slovak audience, Vlast Čep. The Slovak tank is a knockout machine and has never looked past the second round in his winning matches. However, Taburcean is definitely not a sharpshooter, and he revels in stand-up shootouts.

“My fighting style is a non-stop hammer striker,” confirms that we should look forward to real bombs right from the start of the fight. “As a young child I wanted to become an MMA fighter and fight in the biggest European organizations, I call myself an eagle from Moldova,” he was describing his story.

With Čep, he starts in the middleweight division, but previously he also showed himself in the welterweight division. In which weight category would he like to compete? “I want to fight at middleweight. The match with Čep will be in my favor, the fans should bet on me,” he reacted to the fact that the Slovak fighter is the favorite of the bookmakers.

Before long, the battle for the middleweight king will take place between Patrik Kincle and Karlos Vémola. Would he dare to use any of them in the event of a victory over Čep, and does he know them at all? “I don’t know Patrik Kincl, but I would definitely trust both of them,” they believe in their abilities.

MMA in Moldova enjoys great popularity, which was certainly helped by Gamechanger pyramid participant Ion Surdu. “I know him very well, I have followed his matches closely for 5 years,” stated Taburceana. And would he like to follow in the footsteps of the most famous Moldovans in the field of the world’s biggest organization UFC, in which Ion Cutelaba and Sergey Spivac fight? “I’m already following in their footsteps.”
