Moldova closed its airspace for security reasons on February 14

The Moldova Liberă news agency noted that the airspace of Moldova is open, the flight ban has been lifted.

“Dear passengers, at the moment the airspace of the Republic of Moldova is closed, we are waiting for the resumption of flights,” Air Moldova said.

In this regard, changes will be made to today’s schedule.

According to the latest data, the ban will last until 16:00.

Passengers are asked to remain calm and follow the airport information panels online.

Meanwhile, the network reports that the reason for the ban was a Russian reconnaissance drone that flew into the airspace of Moldova. There is no official confirmation of this yet.

We add that Chisinau International Airport is also confirmedthat, by decision of the civil aviation authority, the country’s airspace is closed until 16:00.

Recall that earlier the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that intelligence intercepted the plan of the Russian Federation to destabilize the political situation in Moldova.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that Russia wants to destabilize the situation and change power in Moldova with the help of people with military training and opposition protests.
