Molde, Korona | Corona eruption in Molde

Molde municipality confirmed Wednesday night on its website that the municipality has an ongoing corona outbreak at Kirkebakken care center. A total of four users and one employee are infected. The institution is now closed to visitors and so far no new users are admitted.

Three of the four users are fully vaccinated. The fourth is unvaccinated. They have most likely been infected by a fully vaccinated employee.

-The safety of employees and users has the highest priority now, and in collaboration with municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal, we have implemented a number of infection control measures, says unit manager Hilde Oppigårdi the message from the municipality.

All employees now work with face masks and they wear gloves when physically touched. The sick are isolated in their rooms. Employees will be tested every other day in the future, and users will be tested regularly. Everyone must keep a minimum distance of one meter in the common rooms.

All departments at Kirkebakken care center are closed to visitors.

– Users who are seriously ill or dying can receive visits, but relatives must then wear infection control clothing, says municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal.

Molde municipality was also notified of new cases of infection on Tuesday. Then six people tested positive. These are probably linked to each other, but they are not related to the infected at Kirkebakken care center.
