Both Kisvárda and MTK confidently reached the top 16 in the MOL Hungarian Cup, the former confidently won against BLASZ I-class Unione FC, the latter against third-division ESMTK. This year’s finalist Budafok, on the other hand, bid farewell to the series with a defeat against Veszprém.
Kisvárda deservedly won against Unione FC in the first division of the Budapest championship. On the part of the guests, Vida Krisztofer came forward as the leader, who scored three times after Boban Nikolov’s leading goal. In the start, János Mátyus sent several of his regular players onto the pitch, among them Bohdan Melnyik and Driton Camaj also scored. Kisvárda moved on without any problems against the well-established capital team.
MOL Hungarian Cup: Unione FC (Budapest I.) – Kisvárda Master Good 0–6
After the elimination of Fehérvár, NB III ESMTK failed to achieve another feat: the match against MTK was clearly for the guests. In the first half, Nemanja Antonov was the winning man for the blue and whites, first he scored himself and then assisted Zoltán Stieber. In the middle of the second half, Dániel Zsóri’s header decided the question of advancing, while Patrik Kovács settled the final score of 0-4 after a rebound.
MOL Hungarian Cup: ESMTK–MTK 0–4
Budafok, which played in the final in May, will certainly not repeat its march, as it had a bye in the top 32 against the third division Veszprém. By the way, the match organized in Pápa was extremely twisty and exciting, BMTE led for a long time with Bálin Oláh’s bouncing shot, but the home team reversed within three minutes. Oláh equalized, but Máté Krebsz also scored ten minutes before the end, and the NB II team had no answer.
MOL Hungarian Cup: VLS Veszprém–Budafok 3–2
Nyíregyháza narrowly won in Dunaföldvár, with Krisztián Géresi’s goal. The former national team striker came on as a substitute and scored a goal with his first touch, Szpari also scored a penalty missed by Csanád Novák in the first half.
Szentlőrinc, which confidently beat its classmate, Kelen SC, can also prepare for the round of 16. The guests played with a man disadvantage for more than a half due to the sending off of Dávid Czerula, the red and black team took advantage of this and won 3-0.
In the Mezőörs-Kaposvár meeting, after 1-1 regular time, the home team advanced with penalties.
