Mol and Sørum won an intense world tour final

The sand volleyball duo Anders Mol and Christian Sørum showed strength again and ended the season with a victory in straight sets and a title in the world tour final in Sardinia.

It happened in a very close and intense final against the Czechs Ondrej Perusic and David Schweiner. The opponents led by several points in both sets, but the Olympic champions Mol and Sørum dug out superpowers when it came.

The first set was won 22-20 after a solid pick-up on the butt, while it was a 23-21 victory in an even second set.

– The Czechs have played such a good tournament and been almost unbeatable, so we had to do our best. We are so tired, it has been a long season. I look forward to being able to take a holiday, Anders Mol said in the victory interview.

– It’s just amazing! The final is always difficult, and the Czechs have played well throughout the tournament. They deserved to be here. I’m just happy to be left as the winner, agreed Sørum

The tournament is the final of the world tour in beach volleyball, where the ten best couples in the world get to participate, and was played in Cagliari on Sardinia. For the title, Mol and Sørum will receive a prize check of NOK 1.28 million.
