There will be another Quebecer in the French Ligue 1, since defender Moïse Bombito joined OGC Nice on Tuesday by signing a four-year contract.
According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old athlete will travel this week to undergo medical tests.

The “Aiglons” have finally managed to convince the Colorado Rapids to let Bombito go, for a minimum sum of 7 million euros (10.5 M$ CAD). This is double the most recent offer from Olympique Lyonnais, which was reportedly made a month ago.
There was a lot of interest in France for the Montrealer, who has established himself as a reliable player in Major League Soccer (MLS), but also for the Canadian national team. He was part of coach Jesse Marsch’s starting lineup for all five matches at the Copa America.
Nice had a gap to fill in central defence with Jean-Clair Todibo leaving for West Ham United. Bombito will have a golden opportunity to make his mark, as OGC will play in the Europa League this year after finishing fifth in Ligue 1.
Third overall pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, he was trained in Quebec by CS Saint-Laurent and CS St-Hubert.
Earlier this summer, midfielder Ismaël Koné, a former CF Montreal player, joined the ranks of Olympique de Marseille.
