Mohanlal, who came in the new year with the film Alone, faced a setback. Directed by Shaji Kailas, Elon did not make any numbers at the box office. According to the Twitter forums that track the collection, the film collected only Rs 53 lakh on the second day of its release.
The production cost of the film is Rs 2.5 crore including print and advertisement. It is reported that with today’s collection, the film’s collection has crossed one crore rupees. Now it is not clear whether the film will be able to recover the production cost of the film.

‘Elon’ tells the story of a man named Kalidas who is isolated due to the Covid crisis. After 12 years, Shaji Kailas and Mohanlal are coming together in ‘Elon’. ‘Red Chilliza’ released in 2009 was the last Mohanlal film directed by Shaji Kailas. Anthony Perumbavoor is producing the film under the banner of Ashirvad Cinemas. Elon is also the 30th film of Ashiwad Cinemas.
Rajesh Jayaraman, the writer of Shaji Kailas’ films ‘Sound of Boot’, ‘Time’, ‘Madirasi’ and ‘Ginger’, has written the screenplay for this film. The film is edited by Don Max. Anand Rajendran is the designer. Photography is by Anish Upasana. Cinematography will be done by Abhinand Ramanujam. Music by Jakes Bejoy.
