MoFilming on Empuraan, directed by Prithviraj with Hanlal in the lead role, will reportedly begin in mid-2023. This was tweeted by Friday Matinee. Production of the film will begin next year and hit theaters by mid-2024.
The film was officially announced last August. Mohanlal said the producers envision Empuraan as a pan-world film. Screenwriter Murali Gopi said Empuran is not the second part of Lucifer, but the second film in a three-part series. Although the producers have not officially announced the cost of producing the film, they have been told that they will have to spend a lot of money.
The script of the film is complete. Prithviraj also said there will be shooting in various locations outside India.
