Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2023 French Open after defeating Satwiksairaj Rankireddy at Glaz Arena, Thursday (26/10).

Ahsan/Hendra won 25-23, 19-21, 21-19 in 64 minutes. Ahsan’s backhand brought the score back to 6-7. Ahsan/Hendra equalized the score at 7-7 with a smash from Hendra.

At the start of this first game, Ahsan/Hendra made several errors with poor returns so they became targets for Rankireddy/Shetty.

After a tight duel, Ahsan/Hendra won 11-10 in the first game interval. The Daddies, nicknamed Ahsan/Hendra, were ahead 15-11, then walked away with 18-13.

Ahsan/Hendra tried to recover in the third game by winning 4-3. However, Rankireddy/Shetty who continued to attack overwhelmed Ahsan/Hendra.

However, Rankireddy’s smash hit the net, making Ahsan/Hendra win three points in a row to equalize the score at 10-10. A wrong serve gave Rankireddy/Shetty a 11-10 lead in the second game interval.

After the score was tied at 12-12, Ahsan/Hendra earned two points to regain the lead 14-12. In this deciding game, both pairs made a lot of mistakes.

Rankireddy/Shetty often made too fast returns, while Ahsan/Hendra failed to serve several times.

Ahsan/Hendra got match point 20-17. Luck belonged to Ahsan/Hendra after Rankireddy’s serve hit the net, Indonesia won 21-19.
