Mohamed Salah Transfer: Liverpool Star Headed for Ittihad Club in Record-Breaking Deal

Mohamed Salah seems to be heading for the exit at Liverpool. According to Saudi media, the Reds are close to an agreement with Ittihad Club and the Egyptian himself is also increasingly open to a transfer. Salah immediately seems to trump Neymar as the most expensive incoming transfer of all time in the Gulf state. Ittihad would have more than 100 million euros left for the 31-year-old star attacker.

Liverpool was initially not open to a transfer of his star. However, the gigantic fee has changed the club’s mind. The negotiations are now progressing well and Salah also seems to be increasingly interested in a switch, the Saudi media know. Sources close to Ittihad owner Anmar Al Haily assured that the deal is almost done.

After 6 years, 307 games, 187 goals and 80 assists, Salah’s adventure at Anfield would come to an end. Until recently, another year seemed to be added. Now Salah is chasing former teammate Fabinho, who was previously brought in by Ittihad. Before that, the Tigers already captured Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté and Jota.

The current transfer record in the Saudi Pro League is less than two weeks old. Al-Hilal made Neymar the most expensive in the competition so far with a sum of ninety million euros. Although the Brazilian is now dethroned, he still remains the most expensive in the world with his transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017, when the French paid 222 million euros to activate his escape clause.
