Mohamed Salah Is Positive for COVID-19

Bad news fell Liverpool. Mohamed Salah, favorite star The Kopites, positive sufferer corona virus in the middle of his preparations appeared defensively Egyptian national team.

The announcement was made by the Egyptian Football Federation (EFA), Friday (11/13/2020) evening WIB. Through Twitter social media accounts, EFA confirmed Salah was infected COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test with the Egyptian national team.

“The medical swab examination carried out on our national football team shows that our international player, Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool star, is infected with the Corona virus after a positive test result,” reads the statement submitted by EFA via account @ EFA.eg.

“However, he did not show any symptoms. There were also other team members who tested negative,” he said.

Mohamed Salah originally included in the Egypt squad for the African Cup Qualifying event this week. The Pharaohs scheduled to compete against Togo on Sunday (15/11) and Tuesday (17/11).

With the release of Salah’s positive test results, the 28-year-old star is confirmed to be absent from defending the Egyptian national team in these two matches. The Egyptian King must undergo self-isolation to prevent the spread of the disease.

Salah added to the list of Liverpool players who have the Corona virus. Previously, Thiago Alcantara, Sadio Mane, Kostas Tsimikas, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Naby Keita had first contracted COVID-19, but all had been declared cured.

Mohamed Salah himself is Liverpool’s mainstay player and has always appeared as a starter in the Premier League since the start of the 2020/2021 season. The former AS Roma star has scored eight goals in eight appearances in the Premier League.
