The news of the imprisonment of Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan is still trending on social media.

In the details, Ahmed El Gendy, the lawyer of the Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan, revealed that a portion of the artist’s money was seized at the Commercial International Bank, as a result of the ruling issued in favor of the late pilot Ashraf Abu Al-Yusr, against the backdrop of the case that broke out between them.

Lawyer Ahmed Al-Jundi continued, in an exclusive interview with Fuschia, that one of the employees of the aforementioned bank informed Ramadan that his money had been seized, so Ramadan came out with a video explaining the truth of what happened, and then they were later surprised by the bank filing a report against Ramadan on charges of influencing the bank’s economy and customers.

The lawyer explained that this report was the reason for the ruling in absentia to imprison Muhammad Ramadan for a year, stressing that it was “a ruling in absentia that was appealed through the legally prescribed methods.”

The lawyer stressed that there is no certain and conclusive evidence for the bank’s claim that the video broadcast by Mohamed Ramadan directly affected the bank’s economy or prompted customers at the bank to withdraw their balances.

He explained that the accusation directed against Ramadan is “spreading false news,” which is an incorrect accusation because what Muhammad Ramadan said in the video actually happened, indicating that there is no basis or justification for the accusations that the bank made against its client.

The soldier confirmed that the artist Mohamed Ramadan did not flee Egypt, and said: “Mohamed Ramadan is Egyptian and resides in Egypt and will remain residing in Egypt. He has a party abroad… and the ruling in absentia has been appealed.”
