“Mogo” / LSPA wins a devastating victory in the second game of the OHL semi-final – Hockey

“Mogo” / LSPA beat “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” in their field 6: 0 (2: 0, 3: 0, 1: 0), reaching 1-1 with four victories in the series.

Already in the third minute of the game, “Mogo” / LSPA was nominated by Kārlis Bucenieks, but 47 seconds before the end of the first period, the advantage was doubled by Jānis Ozoliņš.

In the second third, Rūdolfs Polcs scored the majority. “Mogo” / LSPA hockey players took another 34 seconds to reach a safe 4-0, when Ozoliņš scored the second goal in the match.

After the fourth goal scored in the “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” goal, Rūdolfs Gusta Lazdiņš was replaced by Kārlis Zakrevskis.

In the continuation of the period, “Olimp” / “Venta 2002” were able to play in the majority in the fifth against three defenders, but the deficit was not reduced.

Richard Grīnbergs won the game 5: 0 in the 36th minute.

The home team also stood out with an accurate shot in the opening third, this time scoring a goal for Lauris Bajaruns. During the rest of the game, the away team’s dissatisfaction increased and the hockey players of both teams had several short fights.

Henrijs Ančs played a “dry” game in the ranks of the winners, repelling 32 shots, while Lazdiņš repelled 18 of 22 shots and Zakrevskis of 23 shots.

The third game in the series is scheduled for March 22.

“Zemgale” / LLU and “Liepāja” are in the second semi-final, currently in Liepaja with 1-0 in the lead.

The fight for the OHL Champions Cup will start on April 3. The final will also have up to four victories.

The OHL “play-offs” included the top four teams in the tournament. The season has already ended for the remaining three units – Hockey School “Riga”, Daugavpils “Dinaburga” and Riga “Prizma”.

Last season, the OHL winners’ cup was won by “Olimp” / “Venta 2002”, but in the regular season the victory was celebrated by “Zemgale” / LLU.

The first Latvian hockey championship took place 90 years ago.
