jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko confirmed that the government has never criminalized ulama as voiced by Habib Rizieq Shihab.

According to Moeldoko, the word “criminalization” that Rizieq echoed was merely to provoke people’s emotions.

“Actually there is no term criminalizing the ulama, there is none. We do not know that term. And we do not want ulama to be criminalized. The country protects the entire nation,” said Moeldoko at the KSP Office at the Presidential Palace Complex, Central Jakarta, Thursday (12 / 11).

Therefore, the former TNI Commander asked Rizieq who the parties he meant were the perpetrators of discrimination. This includes explaining the evidence related to people whom Rizieq thinks have been criminalized.

“Don’t continue the language of criminalizing ulama. No. Sometimes to build an emotion, these terms are put forward. So I want to tell the Indonesian people that the state protects the whole nation and its citizens,” he said.

Moeldoko reminded that the government is also obliged to enforce the law on citizens who commit crimes. Because, if it is allowed, then this country will be in chaos.

“Well, who is subject to law enforcement? Yes, they are the ones who are wrong. So don’t be behind it, the state or the government criminalizes ulama. There’s nothing. What is criminalized are those who are wrong and there is evidence, “he explained. (tan / jpnn)
