Moeldoko’s Democrats were hit by the issue of being split into three camps

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Power of law Democratic party Moeldoko’s leadership, Rusdiansyah, denied that his client’s camp was divided into three in the appointment Yusril Ihza Mahendra as a power of attorney.

According to Rusdiansyah, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono’s (AHY) Democrat Party, which made the accusations, had given misleading information.

“It is not true that the Democratic DPP, led by General Moeldoko, is divided into three regarding the appointment of a lawyer,” Rusdiansyah said in an official statement received CNNIndonesia.com, Monday (4/10).

Rusdiansyah said the Democratic Party version of the Sibolangit Extraordinary Congress (KLB) had never appointed Yusril and Yosef Badeoda in the dispute over Party Management with the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham). In that case, the Moeldoko camp only appointed its legal office.

Rusdiansyah also denied that the Moeldoko camp had arranged a secret meeting with a person believed to be able to regulate the law in the Ampera area, South Jakarta. He said the meeting was canceled because he was said to have leaked the agenda.

Because of his actions, Moeldoko is said to have scolded Rusdiansyah. However, in reality, he was still appointed as the attorney for the Democrats for the Moeldoko camp.

“The fact is that there was never a meeting that was alleged to have happened,” he said.

In addition, Rusdiansyah also denied that he had a disagreement with a senior politician from the Democratic Party who crossed over to Moeldoko’s camp, Max Sopacua.

He claims that until now he is still on good terms, even though he is said to have been questioned by the police on charges of making a fake power of attorney. He asserted that he had never been questioned or summoned by the police.

“I was said to have been questioned by the police because I was accused of making a fake power of attorney, which is also not true and made up,” said Rusdiansyah.

Separately, Yusril admitted that he did not care about several accusations from the Democratic Party led by AHY. He admitted that he is still focused on his work as a lawyer and handling cases that have been registered with the Supreme Court.

According to him, he is just waiting for the Supreme Court to decide on his lawsuit.

“If the Democratic Party wants to be busy with political gossip every day, that’s their business,” said Yusril in a written message received CNNIndonesia.com.

The AHY Democratic Party previously said that the Moeldoko camp was divided into three when appointing Yusril Ihza Mahendra as legal counsel.

The Strategic Communication Agency (Bakomstra) of the Central Leadership Council (DPP) of the Democratic Party of AHY, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, revealed that former party cadres Johnny Allen and Nazarudin wanted Yosef Badeoda as the party’s attorney.

On the other hand, senior politician Marzuki Ali wants Rusdiansyah. Meanwhile, Moeldoko actually wanted and decided Yusril as a legal representative.

“Moeldoko wanted and finally decided Yusril as his lawyer,” Herzaky said at a press conference at the Democratic Party DPP, Sunday (3/10).

Not only that, Herzaky also mentioned that the team from the Moeldoko camp arranged a secret meeting in Amper with people who were considered to be able to regulate the law. However, the meeting was canceled because Rusdiansyah leaked the meeting.

“KSP Moeldoko was furious to know this,” said Herzaky.

The Democratic Party is divided. Several senior cadres held an outbreak in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra around March. They then declared that the leadership of AHY and its AD/ART was invalid and appointed Chief of Presidential Staff (KSP) Moeldoko as General Chair. However, this stronghold ran aground in the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

After a few months, the Deli Serdang or Sibolangit KLB camp sued the Democratic Party’s AD/ART to the Supreme Court. They appointed Yusril Ihza Mahendra as their legal representative.
