Moeldoko Satirizes Anies Baswedan about Road Construction in Jokowi Era

Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko satirized the presidential candidate of the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan about road construction in the era of President Jokowi.

Moeldoko said the construction of the toll road during the Jokowi era was intended for small communities. He considered that people who doubted Jokowi’s era of development had never felt the difficulty of being a small community.

“Maybe for those who have never lived like that, seeing only luxury cars that enter the toll road, but buses that now enter the toll road for the small community,” said Moeldoko at the National Awakening Museum, Jakarta, Monday (22/5).

Moeldoko said the presence of toll roads facilitates people’s mobility. People can travel long distances more quickly and safely.

He said that he once experienced having to travel for hours because there were no toll roads. Moeldoko is very happy because now the trip is shorter thanks to the Jokowi-era toll road.

“I am a small person, I can take the bus at an affordable price, with a very fast travel time, with a more guaranteed level of security. Who will enjoy it? Small people like me,” he said.

Previously, Anies had leveled criticism at Jokowi’s government. One of them is the question of road construction during Jokowi’s era.

He compared the development of the Jokowi era with that of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). According to him, SBY’s achievement was 10 times that of Jokowi.

“Compared with Pak SBY’s time, the roads that were not paid for were 144 thousand kilometers or 7.5 times as much. Compared to the government’s national roads which were 590 km, 10 years earlier it was 11 thousand km. 20 times. We haven’t talked about quality, standards, that’s just long,” said Anies in Jakarta on Saturday (20/5) and Sunday (21/5).
