Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
General Chairman of the Indonesian Farmers’ Harmony Association (HKTI) Moeldoko claim that the use of deworming Ivermectin able to heal corona virus (Covid-19). He also supports the use of Ivermectin as a drug to cure Covid.
Moeldoko said that his party had already distributed Ivermectin to a number of areas. He also claimed that Ivermectin was effective in treating Covid patients.
“In the cities of Tangerang, East Jakarta, Depok, Bekasi, the level of efficacy in almost all regions is close to 100 percent in reducing Covid-19,” said Moeldoko in a webinar, Monday (28/6).
In addition, he claimed that Ivermectin, known as an anthelmintic, was also able to reduce Covid-19 cases in East Semarang, Sragen, to Kudus.
“Seeing this temporary data, we are quite optimistic that Ivermectin can be an effective drug solution to cure Covid patients,” he said.
According to Moeldoko, the reason he uses Ivermectin and distributes it to a number of areas is because the current condition of the spread of Covid-19 is increasingly widespread. Therefore, Moeldoko admitted that he dared to take a different attitude by distributing Ivermectin as an alternative.
“With the development of Covid like that, we consider this a critical situation, not a normal situation, so it is necessary critical thinking, and even a solution in critical conditions like this,” said Moeldoko.
He also emphasized that in the current situation, silence is not a wise choice. Therefore, Moeldoko dared to make the choice to distribute Ivermectin to HKTI members in a number of areas.
Critical Epidemiologists
Griffith University epidemiologist Dicky Budiman previously confirmed that ivermectin has not been recognized by the world health agency or WHO as a drug to cure Covid. He also asked the government not to over-glorify the drug Ivermectin.
“Often glorification, often there are very positive things, but excessive. This is excessive. Like Ivermectin, there is no WHO recommends, developed countries that have high standards also do not recommend it. Because this is still a clinical trial. We have to be careful. heart,” said Dicky.
WHO had issued guidelines for the use of Ivermectin which stated that the drug should only be used by Covid-19 patients in clinical trials.
Dicky assessed that the government’s pandemic control risk communication strategy had been ineffective so far. Especially those related to various curative programs such as providing vaccines to Covid-19 drugs.
